Anna has repeatedly referred to Jean-Luc as being the love of her life and never has a bad word to say about him. That’s very nice and all, but I think it’s clear to anyone who chooses to scratch below the surface that their relationship was highly, highly toxic. I’ve noticed a tendency for people to romanticize their union (the fact that they were an incredibly photogenic couple seems to exacerbate this), but theirs was not and is not a relationship model to emulate.
