This film has never been released on any home video media and has been virtually forgotten over the years- a shame, considering it’s not half bad. Danger, romance, and action abound in this nicely photographed, quintessentially 60’s epic. Look for a cameo from Anna’s then-husband Jean-Luc Godard as a beggar who walks on his hands in one of the marketplace scenes.

OK, so this will probably work best in list form:
- Good news- I found a copy of Shéhérazade!
- Bad news- It’s a Portuguese dub and of horrible quality.
- Good news- I found a streaming copy of the original French version on a French site, and it’s high quality!
- Bad news- The site it’s on requires having a PC. I’m on a Mac, so I can’t even get to it. Even if I was on a PC, I’m not sure if that would work or not because I’m in the US.
If you’re in France, use Windows, and have 5 minutes to look into this for me, please get in touch!

While this isn’t the most exciting clip, it is the only piece of 1963’s Shéhérazade that I’ve been able to find thus far. At the very least, it does give me hope that a copy of the film is available out there, somewhere…
